St. Serafim Sarovski or Seraphim the Wonderworker of Sarov

Saint Seraphim was born in the town of Kursk in 1759. In all, the most holy Theotokos appeared to him twelve times in his life. The Saint fell asleep in peace on January 2, 1833, chanting Paschal hymns. His veneration quickly spread beyond the boundaries of the Russian Empire to every corner of the earth.
